WebMobilize Author: Sky York

Sky York is a Melbourne based health worker and qualified hypnotherapist, who was formerly a technocrat. Sky is also a proud advocate of the avant-garde artistic movement, currently surfing the waves of change across the planet.

MISSION

Sky York and her Crew set sail on a journey on the 3rd of December 2010, with a mission to ‘shine a light on the global systematic forms of torture and human rights abuses, while in search of a higher moral ground’.

VISION

Sky York and Crew maintain a solid vision to pioneer positive change, by instituting new pillars of democracy through the concretization of; transparency, accountability, truth and justice on earth.

Sky York and Crew remains a strong proponent in overseeing the global dissolution of the pillars of greed, corruption, abuse of power and all forms of systematic torture actuated against humanity.

CAMPAIGNS

On the 3rd of December 2010 Sky York and Crew launched the Sinking Ships and Walk the Plank’ campaign. Showcasing; largesse, greed and corruption in myriad of forms, within commercial, industrial, organized crime and government practices.

The “Sinking Ships and Walk the Plank” campaign reveals a narrative of a journey across the high seas and explains how history repeats.  This theme elucidated American historian David McCullough’s sentiments, who previously stated: “History provides us with a road map to navigation in turbulent waters”. The campaign was aligned to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic ship, on the 15th of April 1912.

Particular attention is focused on mass human rights abuses, drawing on intelligence concerning rogue people smuggling activities on the high seas and drug trafficking activities within the maritime sectors.  The ‘Sinking Ships and Walk the Plank’ campaign has been a tremendous undersea success.

Another successful campaign began on the 13th of April 2011, as Sky York and Crew launched ‘The Truth Shall Set You Free’ campaign.  Dedicated to exposing the many forms of dishonesty and propaganda, disseminated by power agencies and big corporate interests. Additionally empathize highlights the detrimental generational effects such corrupt practices have on society, the environment and the economy.

It should be noted that as a visionary seafarer Sky York and Crew often disseminate information to the people prior to such events becoming public knowledge.  Sky York operates under the ideologies prescribed by pioneering 20th century philosopher Jürgen Habermas in his work the “Public Sphere”, by emulating all forms of civil discourse, rational communication, free speech, collaborative information exchange in an open and transparent manner, in order to enhance a more prosperous, harmonious and open society.

TRUTH IS UNIVERSAL

Moreover Sky York and Crew operate on the principle that ‘Truth is Universal’, meaning actions that transpire in one part of the world, will bear a direct correlation to parallel events occurring in other parts of the earth. With the interconnected fabric of life, the action of exposing corruption, human rights abuses, civil liberty and privacy breaches in addition to criminality, in one city will precipitate a powerful ‘Butterfly Effect’ across the planet.

In order to protect the identity of whistle blowers and criminals who seek to tell the truth, Sky York and Crew always disguise the name and identity of such individuals, for their own protection.

CODE OF ETHICS

Furthermore, it is also important to note that Sky York and Crew engage in professional investigative blogging, prescribing to all relevant Codes of Ethics. The key point of difference in Sky York and Crew’s work is our public interest investigations undertaken often take between two and nine years of detailed investigative research to uncover, analyse, collate and publish evidence of corrupt practices.

  1. In my opinion ‘democracy’ is illusory. In no one country regardless of the type of government established & laws in place is ‘democracy’ truly alive…that is based on the definition ‘all eligible citizens having and equal say in the decisions that affect their lives’.
I see it ‘democracy’ as the aspirations of communities seeking a utopian state.
Please note, I am not against having the opportunity for people to have a voice or by no means do I intend for this comment to be disrespectful and disregard in anyway the ‘good’ works that many have done in the past.
Democracy discourse aside – I believe that ‘freedom’ (at least for me) comes when individuals are transformed when they take up ownership for their own actions by choosing to revert what they have done & by taking it upon themselves to care for the wellbeing of all living things.
There will always be “many forms of dishonesty & corruption” having detrimental effects on each generation…this is why I say democracy is utopian. “Broken” people inevitably will always hurt others, human nature.
I found your post very interesting and informative. I appreciate the work that people do in the community to help improve quality of life for others.

    • Hi NLL,

Thanks for your comments and thought provoking response.
I agree that all individuals regardless of their position and station in life, ought to take stock and “take ownership of their actions”. This theme that you have espoused has run through our commentary on our previous website and remains a prominent theme of Webmobilze campaign, that theme being: Moral Accountability. As a society the people of the world have come to a point in evolution where each individual needs to stand up and be held accountable for their words and past actions. Failing such public disclosures of ‘mistakes” and poor decision making being previously made by “leaders’ within the community, it behoves upon well intentioned members of the community to publicly disclose abuses of power and corruption, especially against those vulnerable and disadvantaged members of society that do not have a voice. Through this process democratic ideals may become reality.
I am also in agreement with “broken people hurting others”. Unfortunately this form of bullying is increasing and it is again up to right minded members of society to say “Enough is enough, it has to stop” After all there are severe consequences to bullying and as you rightly suggest bullies (or broken people) have often been previously bullied themselves.
      Thanks for your insights.

  2. Hi Sky,

I’m interesting in your investigation about abuse of power. Do you mean it from Macroscopically or more specifically from an individual case? For me, I would like to know about how to protect those suffer from the power or emotional abuse such as the victim of family or workplace abuses. Those cases exist widely and hidden under the surface.

    • Hi Annie,

Thanks for your comments. In relation to abuse of power I was more referring to systematic cases of abuse i.e. in government departments, corrupt police organisations and religious orders, say like the Catholic Church’s abuse of power covering up 1000’s of cases of horrific child sex abuse over many decades.

Abuse of power occurs in many organisations across many cities in the world. In Australia within the past decade abuse of power within some government, police and political circles has escalated to unprecedented levels.

For example when a property developer or construction company pays money and other benefits in kind (like properties, holidays, cars, prostitutes, expensive gifts, share portfolios, overseas trust funds) under the table to politicians and public servants in exchange for favourable planning decisions and “assistance” from the tax payer funded authorities to “remove or displace” “problem people” like activists, whistle blowers and witnesses to corruption, this activity is termed abuse of power.

Likewise wealthy companies that donate to political parties, in exchange for lucrative government contracts (often despite the company’s not having the experience or proven track record of success in previous or similar projects) is another example of abuse of power.

Abuse of power can occur when wealthy people and companies offer financial incentives to politicians to “blacklist” certain individuals from actively engaging in society. i.e. these people blacklisted are often activists are are effectively banned from working legally in Australia, are removed from rental properties, denied medical assistance and denied legal representation. This practice is illegal, and against the Human Rights charters, however it occurs to 10,000’s of Australians in recent years. Sadly most of these people become homeless and die, others are tortured by the mafia into silence.

Other instances of abuse of power are government agencies engaging in unlawful phone tapping and bugging innocent peoples phones, computer networks, homes, cars and businesses. Often information is stolen and these individuals are often set up for crimes they have not committed and blacklisted from society and denied all their rights. This form of abuse of power has sky rocketed in recent years, especially since Julia Gillard knifed democratically elected PM Kevin Rudd.

Abuse of power can also be seen when political and government bodies attempt to stifle free speech through draconian media regulations. Such actions are utilised to stifle the truth of government corruption surfacing in the public. This is a contentious issue, which is currently underway in Australia presently.

Abuse of power occurs more often in dictatorship and totalitarian regimes, where psycopaths and tyrants are often in a position of political power. When abuse of power is rife within a society, democracy only exists as a word, not a reality.

In relation to your question about protecting those who suffer from emotional abuse in family and workplaces, Australia has in many states human rights enshrined in law. The United Nations Charter of Human Rights protects all individuals from harassment due to; sex, race, religion, disability, physical features. Victoria also has another layer of human rights protection under the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act (2006).

In Australia it is unlawful to hit and abuse woman (or spouses); physically, sexually, financially and emotionally.

In the workplace you can make complaints of abuse to either the Fair Work Ombudsman and or the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission. there are also other government bodies that can assist in this area.

For spousal and family abuse, victims can make a report to their local police station.

I hope this information answers your questions

and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.

There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
